SUICIDE AWARENESS DAY

I feel compelled to share these well-worded and important thoughts of a friend of mine.

“Today is Suicide Awareness Day. Let’s all take a moment to reflect on those we have lost to suicide and remind ourselves to be kind and supportive to others. You never know what demons afflict those around you.

“Suicide is not a crime or sin 'committed,' and those whose lives it claims are not inherently criminals or sinners. They are victims. This, of course, should never romanticize or idealize death or mental illness, but rather it should encourage us to take a more empathetic approach and use kinder language when talking about the tragic loss that too often strikes in the lives of far too many.”
